For To Us…Wonderful Counselor
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Recently, I’ve been studying through the book of Daniel to prepare lessons for the Ladies’ small group I teach. Daniel has visions that leave him distraught, confused, even physically ill. Because of God’s love for him, God sends an angel to interpret the vision for Daniel.
The events of 2020 have often left me, like Daniel, distraught, confused, and close to physically ill. But because of God’s love for me, I have been able to seek and find His wisdom and comfort through His Word. Through Scripture, I’ve been able to hear the voice of my Wonderful Counselor.
Isaiah 9:6 tells us Jesus is the Wonderful Counselor. Consider those descriptions! Wonderful = excellent, great, marvelous, extraordinary. Counselor = one who gives advice or wisdom. So, Jesus is the excellent, great, marvelous, extraordinary ONE who gives advice and wisdom.
Jesus, our Wonderful Counselor, gives us guidance for our decisions and leads us to the best pathway for our life until the day we no longer walk upon this earth. Every decision we make should be first confirmed by Scripture so we hear the voice of our Wonderful Counselor.
