31 Days Cont. – Day 32 – Come and See What God Has Done!

Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

Rod’s liver transplant surgery went amazingly well. What could be a nine-hour surgery took about 5. He began his recovery and journey to healing. God had provided from the start of our journey and would continue until the end.

We had waited months for this moment; for this answer to prayer. The truth is, God could have healed Rod at any time. He could have provided a liver earlier or even miraculously healed his diseased one but He chose to act in a different way. His answers to our prayers were different than our worldly perspective would have considered right and good.

We saw miracle after miracle in our wait and in Rod’s healing but our awesome God had even more plans for Rod’s transplant. God planned to use it not only for the good of Rod but also for those around him. If he had healed him months earlier, fewer people would have heard about God’s power and faithfulness. As we waited, more and more people heard about the situation and began to pray. More and more people, who didn’t know God began to see our faithful God at work and their faith was renewed. More and more people were aware of the change God had made in our family’s life. Many put their faith in Christ. So many people witnessed the miracle! Good was coming out of bad. And isn’t that God’s purpose and plan for his children? To use the circumstances in our lives to grow our dependence and faith in Him and to make His glory known?

God had turned our wailing into dancing and we couldn’t be silent in our praise to him. And from our valley to our mountain top, others were able to “taste and see that the Lord is good.”

Psalm 34:8-10 (NKJV)

“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;

Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints!

There is no want to those who fear Him.

The young lions lack and suffer hunger;

But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.”
